The SBS-8400 is a versatile and fully programmable, constant current discharge load bank with detailed data acquisition and display capabilities. The unit features a user-friendly touch screen menu and a complete built-in data monitoring/acquisition system when paired with wireless modules and software.
Unlike basic load banks, the SBS-8400 is a high-tech solution for easy, efficient collection of data and generation of records for archiving.
Paralleling Load Banks
Alone, the SBS-8400 has a 0–120 Amp constant current draw range. However, it is possible to parallel additional compatible load banks with the SBS-8400 to increase the current.
With the optional P/N 8400-600A DC clamp the user can discharge up to 720 Amps and the SBS-8400 will monitor the total DC current being drawn by up to two additional load banks in parallel.

NERC standard PRC-005-2 requires that vented lead acid and nickel cadmium (Ni-Cd) systems be discharge tested every six years and valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) batteries every three years. IEEE recommends load testing stationary flooded/vented lead acid and Ni-Cd stationary batteries every five years and VRLA batteries every 12–18 months.
The SBS-4830S constant current load bank is an affordable way to perform easy and accurate load tests, including IEEE450 (vented lead acid), IEEE1106 (Ni-Cd) and IEEE1188 (VRLA) load tests.

Complete Battery Impedance Tester and Data Logger (Meets IEEE/NERC Standards)
The SBS-6500 is a multipurpose impedance and voltage tester. Cell and inter-cell and terminal connector readings are taken within seconds using the included pin probes (or optional clamp probes). The SBS-6500 can be programmed with site names, battery details and pass/warning/fail alarm set points for ohmic measurements (pass/fail for voltage) without the high current requirements and float voltage drop necessary for internal resistance testing types. All data is retained in the meter’s internal memory for easy on-site access. With a computer and the included software, the SBS-6500 generates custom graphical reports for historical trending and comparisons.
The SBS-6500 pairs with our SBS-3510 and SBS-2003 digital hydrometers to import specific gravity readings into the SBS-6500. With this data merge, the SBS-6500 will store and generate reports with voltage, ohmic, temperature and gravity readings.

Specific Gravity Tester with Downloading Capabilities for Lead Acid or Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) Batteries
The SBS-3510 uses oscillating U-tube technology to measure specific gravity and temperature of lead acid or nickel cadmium batteries within seconds. The unit is able to take readings between the range of 0.0000 to 3.0000. With the ability to communicate wirelessly to a printer or computer via the integrated Bluetooth interface, testing results can be uploaded into an easy-to-read report.
Unlike other digital hydrometers on the market, the measuring cell can be replaced if damage occurs. This design feature eliminates the need to replace the entire unit should the measuring cell become damaged.
An optional 90 degree bent filling tube provides easier access for measuring specific gravity in battery cells that are located in tight and hard-to-reach areas.
Maintaining the digital hydrometer through proper maintenance is essential to long lasting service life and accuracy. Exponential Power recommends a maintenance interval of at least once a year. Exponential Power is able to meet all digital service needs.

Designed to meet the US Department of Defense (DoD)’s rigorous UFC 3-520-05 requirements, the SBS-H2-DoD Hydrogen Leak Detector is an upgrade of our popular SBS-H2 system, providing improved Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) detection levels. It is currently used by the Army, Navy and NASA.
Traditional hydrogen gas detectors are designed to measure the amount of hydrogen gas in the air and provide warnings when gas levels reach 25 percent and 50 percent of the LEL concentration. The SBS-H2-DoD detects hydrogen at 12.5 percent and 25 percent of the LEL – a significant additional safety margin that is critical for military applications. The hydrogen detector’s lower alert levels equal more time to address the issue creating the hydrogen gas, and more time means increased overall safety.
The SBS-H2-DoD has visual and audible alarms and 0.5% and 1% hydrogen relays. The device features CAT cable connections between the main unit and up to three sensors, leading to easier installs and retrofits into sensitive and classified environments. Each sensor monitors up to 600 square feet of space and can be powered by AC and/or DC power. The SBS-H2-DoD: Hydrogen Gas Detector is a Real-Time Hydrogen Gas Monitoring device.
The system comes complete with the main control, a highly accurate hydrogen gas sensor and a 25 ft. cable. This unit can be powered with AC and/or DC power and can be mounted directly to a wall or to an electrical box, making it extremely versatile and very user-friendly.
The SBS-H2-DoD includes relays for remote connection to alarm/monitoring systems and for control of external relays for an exhaust fan.
